Monique Luchetti: Lately, It's Late

Monique Luchetti: Lately, It's Late, 2023 - sculpture + projection viewings by appointment - operations@feed.art

A multimedia installation created by the artist Monique Luchetti, titled Lately, It is Late, thoughtfully reflects on the impending environmental crisis and the profound impact that human activity has on the natural world surrounding us. The work juxtaposes the stunning beauty and magnificent power of starling murmurations and bird flight with the haunting quietness of a vast flock of still white birds, creating a striking visual narrative. In our present geologic epoch known as the Anthropocene, all natural systems have been adversely affected by the relentless activity and encroachment of humans. Many bird species find themselves on the brink of extinction, largely due to the alarming loss of habitat and the overwhelming effects of climate change. Luchetti’s work is intricately filtered through the context of her everyday landscape—where birds, branches, and birdbaths become her essential vehicles for addressing the profound interconnectivity of life on our planet, as well as the grim reality of species die-offs and impending extinctions that many face today.
